Did you know that 1 in 5 children in Hungary struggle with reading and comprehension? United Way Hungary launched KÖNYFORGATÓ Literacy Program in 2014 to promote reading and to help children improve their reading and comprehension skills. We organize BookDrives at companies on a regular basis, as well as mobilize individual donors to collect as many gently used children’s books as possible to be distributed among children aged 7-14 – especially those coming from disadvantaged families – through institutions (primary schools and orphanages).
If children’s reading and comprehension skills are not well developed at the right time they will loose their chance to dream bigger and deploy their potential. More
JOY Magazine’s charity action
JOY Magazine and Lapker Zrt. have also started supporting the KÖNYVFORGATÓ Program by donating 20 Forints from the sale of each November copy sold in order to develop children’s reading comprehension. More
Thanks for your support
Do you like reading? Would you share this experience with the children too?
Support the program by purchasing the November issue of the JOY magazine!
Do you have some gently used children’s books?
Hand them in at dedicated shops of Inmedio between October 11th and November 12th, or bring them to the JOY Day collection event at the WestEnd mall between November 9th – 12th, and hand it over personally to the volunteers of the United Way Foundation.
You will find stickers at the collection points. Place one in your gift book, and write your personal message to the new owner!
Give a chance to children and let them dream big!
