• Corning Hungary Kft.  payroll giving campaign

Date:: 14, September, 2011

United Way Hungary organised the payroll giving campaign for Corning Hungary Kft. for the first time. During the one -year campaign period, approximately 400.000 Ft will be raised and the whole amount of money will be used for the Safety School Program of United Way Hungary.

This campaign is just the beginning of a long-term relationship between Corning Hungary Kft. and United Way Hungary. Corning will organise further volunteer events to help and support the work and the Safety School Program of the foundation.

GE Volunteer Academy

Date:  20-22, October, 2011

Together with GE and Borealis Consulting we organized the Volunteer Academy on 20-22, October for the second time.

It was a 2-day long training and volunteering event.

The purpose of the training course is to prepare the leaders for volunteer management, how to plan and execute volunteer days and projects and we offer a platform in which they could share their best practices. The program also aims to enable the participants to support and promote volunteerism at their own company, and bring more active volunteers on board.

UWH believes that by sharing best practices and work together voluntarily on a certain, 2 days-long project will help and enable volunteers to replicate their efforts.

On the second day of the two-day program, the participants actively worked on a volunteering project at the location of the training site in Szentendre in the Skanzen. The location also needed certain equipments which we bought with the support of the program.

Annual Gala Dinner and Charity Auction

Date: 12, November 2011

Location: LARUS Étterem és Rendezvényközpont

United Way Hungary organised the Annual Gala Dinner and Charity Auction on the 12th of November 2011.

Located in LARUS Étterem és Rendezvényközpont the event was perfect for our sponsors and their guests to enjoy the delicious meal prepared by Chef Péter Buday, and to have fun during the quality entertainment .

Beside the presentation of the .results of the Safety School Program the Children’s Choir of Gárdonyi Géza Primary School and the last year’s X-factor finalist –Non-Stop were performing as part of the program.

The closing moments of the Gala was the Charity Auction. The money, raised during the Gala and the Charity Auction, will be used for our Safety School Program.

Teachers’ Training – Safety School

Date: 2011.11.23.

Location: Grund

The first teachers' training was held in November 23, 2011.

35 teachers attended the event. During the day the basics of the method was presented by the key teachers.

The trained school teachers will continue the program in their schools using the teachers' package- „BiztiBusz”- provided by United Way Hungary.
